According to the government’s statement, if any cardholder fails to link their Voter ID and Aadhaar, no action will be done against them. This facility will stay available till next year. The fact that this work is entirely volunteer will also be advantageous in many ways.
The government announced in a statement that the deadline for integrating voter identification with Aadhaar had previously been April 1, 2023, but that it has now been extended to March 31, 2024. In other words, the card holders have been given an extra year to finish this work. The administration has also stated that linking Aadhaar and voter identification is entirely optional and is not required.
