Datuk Fang Shilong was born April 7, 1954 as Chan Kong-sang and known professionally as Jackie Chan, is an actor, director, martial artist and stuntman from Hong Kong known for his burlesque acrobatic fighting style, his comedic timing and his innovative stunts, which he usually performs on his own. Chan has been acting since the 1960s, appearing in over 150 films. He is one of the most popular action movie stars of all time.

Chan is one of the world’s most recognizable and influential film personalities, and he has gained a large global following in the eastern and western hemispheres. He has received stars on the Hong Kong Avenue of Stars and the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It has been featured in various pop songs, cartoons, movies, and video games. He is an opera-trained singer and is also a star of Cantopop and Mandopop, having released a number of music albums and sung many theme songs for the films he has appeared in.

Chan is also a world famous philanthropist and was named one of Forbes Magazine’s Top 10 Most Charitable Celebrities. In 2004, film scholar Andrew Willis said Chan was perhaps the “world’s most recognized movie star”. In 2015, Forbes estimated his net worth at $ 350 million, and in 2016 he was the second highest-paid actor in the world.

Since 2013, Chan has been a pro-Communist politician, member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. After Hong Kong’s electoral reform in 2021, Chan became a member of the electoral committee and was able to vote for the chief executive.

Chan’s extramarital affair with Elaine Ng Yi-Lei gave birth to a daughter named Etta Ng Chok Lam, who was born on January 18, 1999. It turned into a scandal in the media. Although he allegedly gave Elaine HK $ 70,000 each month for her living expenses and HK $ 600,000 when she moved to Shanghai, the transactions were later declared non-existent by her lawyer. Although he regrets the outcome of the case, Chan said he had “made only one mistake that a lot of men in the world are committing.” During the incident, Elaine said she would take care of her daughter without Chan.

Chan speaks Cantonese, Mandarin, English and American Sign Language and also speaks some German, Korean, Japanese, Spanish and Thai. Chan is passionate about football and supports the Hong Kong National Football Team, the England National Football Team and Manchester City. Mamukkoya (5 July 1946 – 26 April 2023) was an Indian actor known for his work in the Malayalam cinema. He also appeared in few Tamil films and the French film Flammens of Paradise. He mostly appeared in comedic roles. His unique usage of the Mappila dialect and style marked his presence in the industry. In a career spanning over four decades, Mamukkoya acted in more than 450 Malayalam films and was the first winner of the State award for best comedian in Malayalam cinema.

Early life

Mamukkoya was born to Chalikandiyil Muhammed and Imbachi Ayisha on 5 July 1946. He has a brother Koyakutty. He had his primary education from MM High School, Calicut. Mamukkoya began working at a timber yard in Kallayi after completing his education at Pallikandi Elementary School, Kuttichira Higher Secondary School, and Kozhikode MM School. He participated in theatrical productions when he was in school. Later, he began performing in a number of amateur plays. He would perform in plays at night and work in the timber yard in the morning.

Career

Mamukkoya started his career as a theatre actor. He got his chance in the film industry through Anyarude Bhoomi (1979). His second entry to Malayalam cinema was through S. Konnanatt’s Surumaitta Kannukal. He was recommended by Vaikom Muhammad Basheer for the role in the movie. After this film, he was introduced to Sathyan Anthikkad by scriptwriter and actor Sreenivasan. Mamukkoya appeared in Siby Malayil’s Doore Doore Oru Koodu Koottam, written by Sreenivasan. In the film, he played an Arabic teacher. Initially, the character only appeared in two or three scenes. However, Mamukkoya’s performance impressed the makers who added further scenes for his role. Mamukkoya would later say that after this movie he stopped going to the timber yard or appearing in plays. He then landed a role in Gandhinagar Second Street, which was also written by Sreenivasan. This was one of his first notable roles. Then came Sathyan Anthikkad’s Sanmanassullavarkku Samadhanam’ and ‘Rareeram’ by Siby Malayil. His portrayal of Gafoor in Sathyan Anthikkad’s Mohanlal – Sreenivasan starring Nadodikkattu (1987) carved a niche for him in Malayalam cinema. The character Gafoor now enjoys a cult following in Kerala. An animation series was released based on this character after several years. His award-winning performance in Perumazhakkalam (2004) proved that he can handle non-comedy roles as well with ease. He again did a similar role in Byari, which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film.[8] He did the title role in the film Korappan, the great (2001), which depicted him as a forest brigand like Veerappan. In 2004, he received a Special Mention in the Kerala State Film Award for the movie Perumazhakkalam.[9] Mamukkoya’s roles in Ramjirao Speaking, Thalayana Manthram, Shubhayatra, Irupatham Noottandu, Sreedharante Onnam Thirumurivu, Ponmuttayidunna Thaaravu, Pattanapravesham and Dhwani are considered among the best of his career.

Personal life and death

Mamukkoya was married to Suhara. The couple had four children; Muhammed Nisar, Shahitha, Nadiya and Abdul Rasheed. He was residing in Kozhikode near Beypore. Mamukkoya had a very close friendship with Vaikom Muhammad Basheer, S. K. Pottekkatt and M. S. Baburaj.

A former Lok Sabha MP who also served as the president of A.M.M.A for 15 years, Innocent will be cherished for his flawless ability to elicit laughter, both on and off-screen.
Malayalam actor Innocent
Malayalam Actor Innocent

Innocent, who hailed from Irinjalakuda in Thrissur district, was under treatment at a private hospital in Kochi for the last couple of weeks. His condition had been over the last few days. His death was declared by Sunday night.
Cancer survivor Innocent had acted in around 750 films, mostly Malayalam as well as some in Kannada, Tamil and Hindi. Though Innocent was popularly known for comic roles, he had also acted in many serious roles.
Innocent won the 2014 Lok Sabha elections as left-front backed independent candidate from Chalakudy in Thrissur. In 2019 he lost to Benny Behanan of the Congress. He had won local body election at Irinjalakuda municipality in 1979.
His acting career began through stage plays in the 1970s. He had won many awards including second best actor award thrice in Kerala State Film awards. He was the president of Association of Malayalam Movie Artists for more than ten years in a row.
Cancer Wardile Chiri (Laughter in the Cancer Ward) was the title Innocent gave to his memoir which detailed his battle with cancer, and it was a fitting one. “Innocent is the cure to cancer. His comedic approach to the illness proved to be more successful than the medical care he had, I can attest,” cancer specialist Dr VP Gangadharan, under whom the actor began the treatment in 2012, said commenting on the book.
Veteran Malayalam actor Innocent breathed his last on Sunday at the age of 75 after battling cancer several times over the last 10 years. The former Lok Sabha member, who also served as the president of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (A.M.M.A) from 2003 to 2018, was taken to the VPS Lakeshore Hospital in Kochi on March 3 due to breathing issues and uneasiness.

Malayalam Comedian
Innocent (actor)
Innocent Vareed Thekkethala (28 February 1948 – 26 March 2023) was an Indian actor and politician. He predominantly worked in Malayalam films in addition to few Tamil, Kannada, Hindi and English films, mostly in comedic roles. In a career spanning more than five decades, he has acted in more than 750 films and is considered one of the best comedians in Malayalam Cinema. He was also appeared in negative roles, such as in Mazhavilkavadi, Ponmuttayidunna Tharavu and Ganamela. Innocent has won several awards, including three Kerala State Film Awards. He served as the Member of Parliament in the 16th Lok Sabha of India representing Chalakudy constituency.
In 1979, he was elected as the municipal councilor of Irinjalakkuda municipality. Innocent won the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Chalakudy Lok Sabha constituency as an independent candidate supported by the Left Democratic Front (LDF). Innocent served as the president of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), a guild of Malayalam artists from 2003 to 2018. He has written books based on his memories, and columns in magazines and newspapers.
Early Life
Innocent was born on 28 February 1948 to Vareed Thekkethala and Margaret in Irinjalakuda, Travancore-Cochin (present-day Kerala), India. He is the fifth child and third son of his parents, who had eight children. He had his primary education at Little Flower Convent Higher Secondary School, Irinjalakuda, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Irinjalakuda, and Sree Sangameswara NSS School, Irinjalakuda. He studied till eighth grade and discontinued his studies as he could not cope with studying. Innocent went to Madras (then) for his acting career and worked there as a production executive and during that time he acted in a minor role in the movie Nellu, which was one of his earlier movies.[citation needed] He fell ill and came to Davangere in the 1970s for treatment for Typhoid, where his cousins George (studying medicine at JJM Medical College), Davis, and his brother Sunny were running the Shamannur Match factory, in Davangere. Later, he was an active partner in the working of the factory. As Innocent was keen on the performance activities, he seized the opportunity to participate in Davangere, Kerala Samajam drama, and received audience approval in entertainment event.
Film career
Innocent’s mannerisms and diction is unique in Malayalam cinema and he wildly caught the attention of the Malayalam audience. This made him almost a phenomenon in the Malayalam comedy scene, also making him a hot favorite for mimicry artistes. His popularity can be gauged from the fact that many frontline directors in Malayalam (like Priyadarshan, Satyan Anthikkad, Fazil and Kamal) rarely make films without Innocent. He has proven his acting skills in serious and character roles in several films. He has been the president of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) for 12 years. He has held the post for the last four consecutive terms.
Innocent entered the film industry in 1972 with the movie Nrityashala. At first, he produced a few serious offbeat films, but he was not successful. In the long span of his career, Innocent has worked in more than 750 films in a variety of roles, mainly in Malayalam. He has also acted in a few Tamil and Hindi films.
Innocent played comedy roles in like Ramji Rao Speaking, Mannar Mathai Speaking, Kilukkam, Godfather, Vietnam Colony, Nadodikattu,Manichitrathazhu and Kalyanaraman. Innocent has also excelled in character and villain roles such as Keli, Kathodu Kathoram.
Other films included Kabooliwaala, Gajakesariyogam, Mithunam, Mazhavilkavadi, Manassinakkare, Thuruppugulan, Rasathanthram,Naran and Mahasamudram. His effort, along with that of the superstars who starred in these films, played an important role in their success. His pairing with K. P. A. C. Lalitha was highly successful in movies such as Ponn Muttayidunna Tharavu, My Dear Muthachchan, Godfather and Manichitrathazhu.
2020 is the only year he didn’t appear in any films since 1980 due to Cancer treatment. Paachuvum Athbhuthavilakkum is Inncoent’s last film before his death in March 2023.
Books
Innocent authored five books: Njan Innocent, Cancer Wardile Chiri, Irinjalakudakku Chuttum (memoirs), Mazha Kannadi (collection of short stories) and Chirrikku Pinnil (autobiography). Cancer Wardile Chiri (Laughter in the Cancer Ward) is an account of his experiences while undergoing treatment for throat cancer. Irinjalakudakku Chuttum won the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for Humour in 2020.
Politics
Innocent was the Thrissur District Secretary of the Revolutionary Socialist Party during the 1970s. He had contested in the Irinjalakkuda municipal council elections as Revolutionary Socialist Party-backed candidate in 1979 and had won that election. He was rumoured to be a Left Democratic Front (LDF)-supported independent candidate from the Irinjalakkuda assembly constituency in the 2006 Kerala Legislative Assembly elections but this did not happen. Innocent won the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Chalakudy Lok Sabha constituency in Thrissur district as an independent candidate supported by the LDF.
Innocent lost in the Lok Sabha elections 2019 to UDF candidate Benny Behanan.
Personal life
Innocent married Alice on 26 September 1976, and had a son, Sonnet. Sonnet was married, with two children, Innocent Jr. and Anna. Innocent Jr. acted in a documentary as Innocent in childhood.
Illness and death
On 3 March 2023, Innocent was suddenly hospitalised after feeling sick. He was placed under extracorporeal membrane oxygenation support after his condition turned worse. A cancer survivor, Innocent was in hospital for nearly three weeks owing to cancer-related complications. He died at Lakeshore hospital in Kochi, Kerala, on 26 March 2023, at the age of 75.

These images were captured in 2015 on the set of the film Grand Master. These are pictures of the two of them cracking quips and having fun between takes. Jagathy Sreekumar was someone who made us chuckle a lot and told jokes all the time. In the moment and outside of his role as Rehazel, he was grinning a lot. The place was filled with a lot of merriment. Kochi hosted the victory party for the movie. The day after the event ended, the Jagathy Sreekumar accident occurred in Kozhikode.
